Mutya


 Mutya is a TV series premiered on January 31, 2011 on ABS-CBN's primetime slot.. Mutya is a Philippine fantasy series produced and aired by ABS-CBN that is based on Pablo S. Gomez's comic of the same name. The series introduced the network's newest discovered child actress.

The Plot:

Mutya (Mutya Orquia), a child mermaid, was born due to the love of her parents, Cordelia (Precious Lara Quigaman), a human, and Prinsipe Irvin (Alfred Vargas), the Prince of the seaworld kingdom. However, their relationship was forbidden as Irvin is set to be married with another royalty mermaid, Nerissa (Nina Jose). Cordelia was pregnant at the time of their relationship, and was forced to give birth to the child. The child was born with an unknown disability, where her legs were attached to each other. Cordelia's mother, Delilah (Sandy Andolong), sees this, horrified and decided to dispatch the child. She assigned Tonyo (Jayson Gainza) to take away the baby. Tonyo however brought the child into their home and treated her as their own and named her Mutya. As Mutya grows up, she was protected by her older brother Aries (Jairus Aquino), who has always been there for her. Mutya was still yet to realize that she is a mermaid. With her legs being attached to each other, it was mistaken as a disability although it was actually her mermaid tail slowly forming. As the story unfolds, Mutya struggles to blend in to the human world while her parents struggles to find and be reunited with her. As they find their own way to blend in with people, they've been adopted by a drunk woman that used to be a singer, who later mistakely found out Mutya is a mermaid but her both legs are de-formed.

Mara Clara 2010

The Mara Clara was an original Filipino prime time television family drama. It was created by Emil Cruz Jr., and produced by ABS-CBN. Mara Clara is a currently airing Philippine family primetime drama on ABS-CBN. This 2010 remake is based on the 1992 original television series of the same name. Kathryn Bernardo was cast in the role of the new Mara, with Julia Montes as Clara. It was directed by Jerome Chavez Pobocan Claudio "Tots" Sanchez-Mariscal IV. Its running time is about 30 to 45 minutes. The openning theme "Mara Clara" Carol Banawa.

The plot of this primetime teleserye goes this way; Alvira and Gary are a couple, but she breaks up with him, for a scholarship to America. Gary becomes heartbroken, and falls in love with Alvira's poor friend, Susan, in the thought that she may not return, but it was short lived. Upon Alvira's arrival after years of studying abroad, all his feelings for her came back and he sought to win her back, but was heartbroken to find out she's engaged to a wealthy businessman, Amante Del Valle. He became drunk with anger and impregnated Susan on a one-night stand. Lupe, Gary's mother, blamed Susan for everything, insisting she seduced him from getting back with Alvira. Alvira and Amante got married, with Gary's anger turning to total obsession for Alvira. Months passed, Susan and Alvira gave birth on the same date and hospital. Gary planned his revenge, and commands Karlo to kidnap Alvira's baby. He rejected at first, but a debt owed made him do otherwise. He became afraid when Gary was caught by the police and sent to jail, accidentally switching Alvira's baby and Susan's baby. Susan's daughter, was brought up to the Del Valles and named Clara and Alvira's baby, brought to the Davids was named Mara.

Machete

Watch the newest TV Series. The GMA 7 brings new life to the well-renowned Pablo S. Gomez "komiks" series about a wooden sculpture that comes alive at night with its primetime fantasy drama, Machete. It is currently showing tonight at GMA Telebabad.

Machete was played by GMA homegrown talent Aljur Abrenica who evolves from StarStruck's Ultimate Hunk to a full-fledged prime time hunk. The Machete is his biggest role to date. It is with great pride that the homegrown kapuso actor dons the celebrated bahag, first worn by Gardo Versoza and Cesar Montano in the early 90's and which escalated their star status.

This modern version of Machete is brought to life by the artworks of two gorgeous ladies-Rosella, she's a sketcher, played by Bella Padilla and Marla, who is a sculptress, portrayed by Ryza Cenon.

The stars, completing the casts are Ryan Eigenmann act as Karum, a ruthless warrior from Machete's past life; Gina Alajar act as Elena and Nonie Buencamino, act as Carlos, Rosella's parents; Rio Locsin act as Divina and John Arcilla, act as Alfonso, Marla's parents; and in a special cameo appearance of Zoren Legaspi as Mayari, Machete's father.
Playing equally important characters in the life of Machete are Polo Revales, act as Zander, Marla's ex-boyfriend and henchman; Chariz Solomon, act as candy, Marla's house help and Rosella's bestfriend; Rocky Gutierrez, act as Lucco, Marla's bodyguard who is also secretly in-loved with her. Gwen Zamora as Serena, a young curator and anthropologist; Karen delos Reyes act as Bugan, a princess and Machete's admirer in the past and Stephanie Henares, act as Valerie, Marla's socialite-friend.

For the meanwhile, the statue of Machete in the program was chiseled by the National Artist Napoleon Abueva's team of expert sculptures led by his Lawin.
